Catholic Music Chapel Director - $50.00 Per Hour– Tucson, AZ 85708 USA

The Role

Do you have a strong background in liturgical music and experience leading choirs? Are you confident selecting and preparing music for worship services? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are seeking a Music Director to lead the music programme for liturgical services at the DMAFB Chapel. You will work closely with the Chaplain and accompanist to ensure music enriches the worship experience.

This is a part-time position , working on average 5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select music for liturgical services in collaboration with the accompanist and Chaplain.
• Ensure all music selections comply with copyright laws.
• Prepare music for choir members and accompanist.
• Conduct one choir rehearsal per week, separate from the liturgy.
• Attend monthly Parish Advisory Council and liturgical planning meetings.
• Complete sound system training for both chapels on DMAFB.
• Provide music for weekend Masses and special services, such as the Christmas Cantata.

The Person

• Experienced in liturgical music and choral direction.
• Familiar with worship requirements and practices.
• Proficient in sight-reading, conducting choral and congregational singing, and directing accompanists and instrumentalists.
• Able to maintain professional standards of conduct, including dress and grooming.
• Holds academic certification and/or has experience in music performance and choral leadership.
• Skilled at building positive relationships with staff, parishioners, and colleagues.
